World's Biggest One-Day Rodeo, Part 1

Photos from the 73rd Annual Augusta Rodeo.

This has nothing to do with Montana Elk Hunting, but everything to do with Augusta, Montana and the U.S. of A. Rodeo is the most American sport I can think of (even more so than baseball).

Saddle bronc.

Bareback riding.

Calf Roping.

The Augusta Rodeo was the first I ever attended. The first time I went was in the late 1970's.

Up to that point in my life it was the most exciting thing I had ever seen.

I think it's something I need to make plans to escape Colorado next summer and take my boy's to.

Thanks for the comment, Keith.

Just remember, the Biggest One-Day Rodeo is held the last Sunday in June. And, since you've been around here, you know there is lots else to see.

Have a great day.

Nice pics! I agree about the rodeo being the most american sport comment.

It's weird. I'm not a cowboy, yet I have horses. And I've always wondered if I could rope a calf...hmmm. Maybe that could be a new goal of mine. My horse is due to get broke this fall. A year or two from now I wonder...
